Safety Town is a comprehensive education program that introduces safety awareness and preventive procedures to children entering kindergarten or first grade. Our program operates under the direction and guidelines of the National Safety Town Center.
The children will be taught safety education through proper and effective teaching techniques. Lessons will be held on the miniature “town” with streets, traffic signals, signs, buildings, and “automobile traffic” (tricycles) will reinforce the traffic and pedestrian rules taught in class. Classes will meet for 10 consecutive days (Monday thru Friday) for 1 ½ hours per day and will conclude with a graduation ceremony. Limit of 14 children in each class.
Session I: June 15 to June 26; Session II: July 6 to July 17; 9 am to 10:30 am OR 11am to 12:30 pm. Fee: $35 Resident $40 Non-resident Classes held at Wickliffe Elementary School. Non-residents registration starts May 27.

Register weekdays, now thru May 22; 8 am to 4 pm. REGISTRATION ENDS MAY 22. COACHES NEEDED! To better protect our children, the City of Wickliffe’s Law Department and our risk management consultants have authorized basic background checks for our coaches. FEE: $35 Residents, $45 Non-residents. Anyone signing up after teams are formed will be placed on a team with space available.
Tee Ball (Co-Ed) is for ages 3 & 4 (must be 3 years old by June 1, 2015). Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday practice starts June 1, Tuesday and Thursday practice starts June 2. Games and practices at Borromeo Seminary. Tee-Ball Registration Form
Pee Wee Baseball is for ages 5, 6 & 7. Girls play on Mondays & Wednesdays; practice starts June 1. (Girls 7 years old not eligible for Girls Fast Pitch Softball are welcome to play). Summer Day Camp
June 15 – July 31; 8 am to 5 pm;
Held Monday thru Friday
Summer Day Camp is an seven-week program for children entering grades 1 thru 6 during the 2015-2016 school year.
A fun-filled summer is planned with various activities such as games, swimming, contests, fishing, crafts, nature activities, field trips (for an additional fee) and much more. The headquarters for day camp is beautiful Coulby Park. The pavilion by the pond is where children are to be taken in the morning and picked up in the evening. Fliers and registration forms are available in the Recreation Department and on-line. Camp Director: Michelle Johnson. Fee for Residents: $95 per week for first child in family; $65 for each additional child in family; $70 for two days for first child in family; $50 for two days for each additional child in family; Non-resident: $140 per week for each child; $100 for two days for each child in family. Additional charges for extended hours. All campers must purchase a pool pass separately. Sign up and payment for first week must be made in advance of starting date and before the June 12 deadline.

Youth Beach Volleyball League
Volleyball on the sand volleyball court at Coulby Park, Fridays, June 5 – July 31, 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm. (Time of play will be based on age) Boys and girls ages 9 -14. Blue division (ages 9-11) 6:00pm-8:00pm, Gold division (ages 12-14) 7:30pm-9:30pm. Blue division can play in Gold, but Gold division cannot play in Blue. Fee: $20 per player. Max per team is 5, minimum is 3. Register through

June 15 – June 18: 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Camp Director: Coach Craig Austin. Held at Wickliffe Elementary School Gym. Fee: $40 Resident; $50 Non-resident. Registration and payment due by June 13. Limit 40 campers. For boys and girls entering grades K thru 3 in the 2014-2015 school year. This camp is designed to introduce campers to the fundamentals of the game. Emphasis on basic skills, dribbling, passing, and shooting as well as friendly competition. This is an instructional camp with minimal time devoted to games. Campers will receive a t-shirt and ball.

Limit 50 campers. For boys and girls entering grades 4–6 during the 2014-2015 school year. Learn the fundamentals of basketball, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork and man to man defense. This camp will also teach the concepts of team offense and defense as the campers will play both 3 on 3 and 5 on 5. Each camper will receive a t-shirt and a drawstring bag.

Lady “Blue Devil” Basketball Camp – 3 Day Camp
4th through 8th grade
July 20, 21, and 22, 9 am to 12 Noon. Held at Wickliffe High School gym. Fee: $30 Resident/Non-Resident. For girls entering grades 4 - 8 during the 2015 – 2016 school year. Girls will receive training in the fundamentals of basketball: dribbling, passing, shooting footwork basics of offense-defense, and conditioning. Each camper will receive a t-shirt.

Session I: Grades K-3 – 10:00 am - 11:00 am – Residents $30/Non-Resident $35.
Session II: Grades 4 & up – 11:00 am to 12:30 pm – Resident $35/Non-Resident $40. Cost includes t-shirt. Campers should bring water or sports drink. Campers should bring a racquet if they have one, if not, one will be supplied. Campers should come ready for a fun-filled week of tennis.
Beginner campers will learn basic techniques of tennis, ground strokes, footwork, and etiquette. Advanced campers will sharpen skills in the area of footwork and strategy, etiquette, scoring, ground strokes/spins and serves. Camp held at Coulby Tennis Courts.

Thursday June 11- July 16, 2015 from 6:00pm – 7:15pm
Held at South School Fields, 5000 Shankland Road in Willoughby, OH. Boys and girls in grade 1-5 learn to play one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. Lacrosse is action packed and lots of fun! The sport has elements of soccer, football, basketball and hockey. Once you try lacrosse you’ll love lacrosse!
All equipment will be provided in this highly instructional program. Experienced coaches will be provided by Jump Start Sports. All players will receive training on the fundamentals, including: passing and catching; fielding ground balls; cradling; spacing positioning; and defense. Then they will be divided by gender and age to play fun game situational scrimmages, which will help them learn more and enjoy the fast-pace action of the game. Plastic sticks and soft balls will be provided. No checking, stick checking or poking will be permitted! No helmets or shoulder pads will be used. Sign up at Jumpstartsports.com.

Blue Devil Football Clinic
July 21-23, 2015 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Held at Wickliffe High School.
Learn the fundamentals of competitive football from WHS and WMS Coaches and Varsity players. Clinic is for boys in grades 2 – 8 who have a desire to learn the fundamental skills of Football: footwork, blocking, and tackling. Fun filled friendly competition. Wickliffe Soccer Club
The Wickliffe Soccer Club offers competitive soccer leagues for players of any ability and experience level. Seasons begin in the fall and last about two months, then continue in the spring for approximately six weeks. Registration deadlines are generally mid- to late July for older divisions (U10, G10, U12, and G12) and right before Labor Day for the younger division (U8).
Divisions are as follows:
For players who are in kindergarten through 2nd grade, and who do not turn 8 before Aug. 1st. Format is 6v6 and games are played on the youth soccer fields at Coulby Park. The $35 fee includes a team shirt.
U10 (Boys/Coed) and G10 (Girls Only)
Players cannot turn 10 before Aug. 1st. Format is 6v6 and home games are played on the Borromeo field on Bishop Road. Away games are played at a variety of fields around Western Lake County. The $70 fee includes a team uniform (shirts, shorts and socks).
U12 (Boys/Coed) and G12 (Girls Only)
Players cannot turn 12 before Aug. 1st. Format is 8v8 and home games are played on the Borromeo field on Bishop Road. Away games are played at a variety of fields around Western Lake County and Eastern Cuyahoga County. The $70 fee includes a team uniform (shirts, shorts and socks).
