KEEP WICKLIFFE BEAUTIFUL
Who We Are
KWB began as the Wickliffe Clean City Commission on October 13, 1986 as the result of an ordinance by Wickliffe City Council. It became a certified Keep America Beautiful affiliate on November 5, 1986 after completing certification requirements. Its volunteer board is comprised of 10 appointed
members and a subcommittee of unlimited number. These volunteers address
environmental issues, including litter prevention, recycling, and education. KWB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

GREAT AMERICAN CLEAN-UP
MARCH 26 – MAY 15
Groups can organize their own cleanup of public areas in Wickliffe. Keep Wickliffe Beautiful will provide supplies. Please register as a project coordinator for a cleanup by calling KWB at (440) 943-7100 or online at pfowler@cityofwickliffe.com. Coordinators select an area for cleanup, organize volunteers for their event, and pick up supplies from KWB office. After cleanup, coordinators verify the participation of all volunteers and report the number of bags of trash collected. Click here to volunteer.

FREEWAY RAMP CLEANUP
MARCH 27, 8:00 AM
Meet at the Center for Pastoral Leadership, 28700 Euclid Avenue at 8:00 AM to receive safety instructions, supplies. Volunteers will pick up litter on the I-90/Euclid Avenue ramp and the I-90/Bishop Road ramp.

ROSE GARDEN Clean-Up
APRIL 10, 10:00 AM
Meet at Wickliffe City Hall, Rose Garden area. Bring pruners, small trowel & rake for pruning roses, cleaning out beds. Volunteers will be raking out rose beds, cutting back roses and turning mulch in preparation for spring growing season.

CELL PHONE RECYCLING & SHRED YOUR FILES EVENT
MAY 8 (Saturday) 11 AM – 2 PM
Wickliffe Community-Senior Center, 900 Worden Road
Residents may bring confidential papers for shredding. Old cell phones will be collected on site for recycling. Volunteers will assist with moving paper from cars to the shredding van, and for putting cell phones in designated recycling bins. |
FLOWERS ON THE AVENUE
Week of May 20 – 23
Planting of flowers must be done anytime before Memorial Day, May 31. More volunteers are needed for this project, to plant the 50+ planters in the City and other areas around town. Flowers are to be picked up on Thursday, May 20th, from 4:30-5:30 PM at the Wickliffe Service Garage parking lot. Call 943-7100 for a planting assignment.

KWB ANNUAL GOLF OUTING
JUNE 6, Pine Ridge Country Club
Volunteers are needed to sign in golfers, assist with golf outing games, distribute golfer gifts, and take photos of golf foursomes. Volunteers needed at golf course from 9:30 AM until 2:30 PM.

CLOTHING COLLECTION
October 21-23, 2010
Wickliffe Community-Senior Center, 900 Worden Road
THURSDAY -October 21 -Volunteers are needed to set up the clothing collection tables and racks on Thursday. Volutneers will also move the collected bags of clothing into the community center from a storage bin in preparation for Friday.
FRIDAY -October 22- Volunteers are needed to fold and sort the collected bags of clothing and place them on designated tables and racks for distribution. Sorting starts at 9:00 AM and continues until all clothing is sorted.
SATURDAY-October 23- Volunteers are needed to take down the clothing collection tables and racks on Saturday afternoon, beginning at 12 Noon until all tables are folded, racks taken down and extra clothing is bagged for delivery to local donation site. |

The Keep Wickliffe Beautiful Commission publishes a page in the Wickliffe
Connection which is distributed quarterly to all Wickliffe residents.
It contains timely information about upcoming events and recycling collections,
as well as recycling tips and other suggestions for waste reduction and
reuse of materials that would otherwise be discarded.
