Recycling Services
The City of Wickliffe has a DROP-OFF RECYCLING PROGRAM for
its residents convenience. All Wickliffe residents are encouraged to participate
in the drop-off recycling program. Recycling bins at the drop off site
are emptied on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. If the bins are
full, please come back at another time after the bins have been emptied.
This will prevent overflow of the bins. Please, do not throw your recyclables
on the parking lot area around the bins. Help keep Wickliffe clean and
neat. Thank you!

2. Put paper and cardboard in designated bin, other recyclables can be
co-mingled in the other bin. Bins will be clearly marked with what recyclables
should be placed inside.
3. Loose collection is preferred; no need to bag recyclables.
4. Take your recyclables to the drop-off box as often as you like; no
limit to the number of visits allowed.
5. Please do not put garbage in the recycling bins or leave trash around
the bin site.
6. Do not put tires, paint cans, motor oil, appliances or other non-recyclable
items in the bin. Call (440) 943-7100 for instructions on how to dispose
of these items.
RECYCLED MATERIALS INCLUDE:
Newspaper, Magazines, & Glossy Inserts
Place newspaper, magazines and glossy inserts all in the same paper bag
(no need to separate) and place them in the "Paper" section
of the drop-off bin. Loose collection of newspaper and magazines is also
allowed. No Plastic Bags, please!
Green & yellow Abitibi Paper Retriever Bins are now located at each
of the recycling sites for your newspapers, magazines and junk mail. Please
do not put cardboard or phone books in the Abitibi Paper Retriever bins.
Glass Bottles & Jars
Rinse glass and remove lids before putting in bin. Brown, green and clear
colored glass is collected. Do not recycle light bulbs, plate glass, mirrors,
or any glass that is not a beverage bottle or food container.
Aluminum and Metal Cans
Rinse and place aluminum and metal cans in your recycling bin. You do
not have to remove labels from the cans. To conserve space, you may crush
your cans. Do not recycle scrap metal, paint cans, aluminum foil, or disposable
aluminum plates or pie tins.
Plastic
Rinse and remove the lids before placing plastic containers in the roll-off
bin. Recycle only the plastic containers with the #1 PETE and #2 HDPE
recycle symbol. Do not recycle plastic wrap or other types of plastic
containers such as those used for motor oil or antifreeze.
Corrugated Cardboard & Chipboard
Collapse and fold corrugated cardboard and household paperboard (such
as cereal boxes) and put cardboard materials in the "paper"
section of the drop-off bin. Collapsing the boxes will save room in the
collection bin, allowing more materials to be put in the bin.
If you have any questions about what can be placed in the drop off recycling
containers, please call the City Programs Coordinator at (440) 943-7100.
Planet Aid Clothing Collection Bins
Two yellow clothing collection bins have been placed at the Coulby Park
recycling site. Residents may donate clothing to Planet Aid by placing
their clothing in these bins. Planet Aid is a non-profit organization
dedicated to improving the lives of people in developing countries. Their
objectives include development, relief aid, and protecting the environment.
Planet Aid was founded in 1997 and has since then collected and resold
used clothing as a means to raise funds for development projects overseas,
such as schools, health programs or HIV/AIDS prevention in Africa, Asia
and Central America.
The yellow Planet Aid clothing bins will be permanently located at the
Coulby Park recycling site. Clothing donations may be made at any time
of the year.
