It’s never too early to join in! Sports activities can help your children develop lifelong habits of exercise and encourage them to learn social skills beyond the classroom. Here is your source for sports programs, age 3 to 18, both city-run and community managed. Sports provide opportunities for physical development, learning, and sportsmanship. Help build your child’s character on a foundation of healthy competition and teamwork.
Wick Kickers – NEW THIS YEAR!
A six-week program for boys and girls ages 3-5. Boys and girls have fun and learn the basics of soccer. Sessions include instruction, participation in fun age appropriate drills that are designed to teach skills, and a non-competitive game. Sessions held on Saturdays, 9:30-10:15 AM at Coulby Park. Limited to the first 20 who register and pay. $50 residents/ $60 non-residents. Registration begins February 5th. Sessions will start April 7th, 2018. This is a program to introduce young children to the sport of soccer and parents will be asked to help with some drills. Make sure to bring a water bottle and shin guards. Each participant receives a SOCCER BALL at the end of the program!

Wickliffe Junior Olympics (WJO) – WJO holds special events on Saturdays (Charity Runs/Mall walks/Motivational Movie Nights). Stop in at the Recreation Department to register, no fee, donations accepted.

COMMUNITY RUN SPORTS PROGRAMS
This is a community information list only. These are Wickliffe based organizations that serve Wickliffe residents. The City does not run these organizations. Please use the contact numbers below to receive additional information about the league or sport.
Wickliffe Soccer Club
The Wickliffe Soccer Club offers competitive soccer leagues for players of any ability and experience level. Seasons begin in the fall and last about two months, then continue in the spring for approximately six weeks.
Registration for the 2017-18 season. In our split-season format, your registration and fee cover both the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 sessions.
Please note the following registration guidelines and deadlines:
- U6/U8 Division (Coed) **Birth year 2010 or later.
The U6 coed division offers instructional coed play for children in pre-K and kindergarten. Fee is $45 if paid by Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. Fee increases to $50 thereafter. Final registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 25. Practices and games begin after Labor Day.
- U10 Division (Boys/Coed) **Birth year 2008 or later.
Mostly for players in the 3rd and 4th grades. Players cannot turn 10 before Aug. 1, 2016. Fee is $80 if paid by Saturday, July 1, 2017. Fee increases to $85 thereafter. Final registration deadline is Saturday, July 22. Practices and games begin in August.
PLEASE NOTE: No 2nd graders or players who are age-eligible for U8 will be placed in the U10 division until all players who age-wise belong there are placed on teams. If any openings remain then anyone requesting to move up early will be considered by the U8 Commissioner and board.

Registration fee includes a team jersey for U6/U8 players. For older players, it includes a team jersey and socks. Each child is required to provide his/her own shoes and shin guards. (NOTE: Shin guards are required for all practices and games.) Players may play on a recreation team and a travel team at the same time.

Monthly meetings are held on 2nd Thursday of each month at the Coulby Park clubhouse, 28730 Ridge Rd, at 8:00 pm. Use Coulby Pond entrance for closest parking lot to the clubhouse.
