Indoor and Outdoor Fun

It’s never too early to join in! Sports activities can help your children develop lifelong habits of exercise and encourage them to learn social skills beyond the classroom.  Here is your source for sports programs, age 3 to 18, both city-run and community managed.   Sports provide opportunities for physical development, learning, and sportsmanship. Help build your child’s character on a foundation of healthy competition and teamwork.

Sports Programs

Wickliffe Water Devils Swim Team

Wickliffe Water Devils – welcomes swimmers in all age groups. Swimmers must have the ability to swim the length of the pool. Competition meets are on Saturday mornings at local pools. Fees: $65 one swimmer; $95 two swimmers; $120 three or more per family, with a $20 concession fee per family.

Registrations:
Wickliffe Community Center, 900 Worden Road: Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 10am to 2pm. ($5 discount on this date) and Wednesday April 10, 2019, 6-8pm.
Recreation Hall above the old fire station near the Police Station on Ridge Road: Saturday April 27, 2019, 10am-1pm and May 4, 2019 11am-1pm ($10 late fee charged on this date).

Wick Kickers

A four-week program for boys and girls ages 4-6. Boys and girls have fun learning the fundamentals of soccer: Dribbling, passing, trapping, and shooting. Each session consists of instruction and participation in fun age appropriate drills and concludes with a non-competitive game. Sessions are held on Saturdays, April 20 – May 11, 9:30-10:15 am at Coulby Park behind the tennis courts. Registration starts February 5. Limited to the first 25 participants who register and pay ($30.00 residents/ $40.00 non-residents). This program is to teach young children the sport of soccer and parents will be asked to help with some drills. Make sure to bring a water bottle and shin guards. Each player receives a T-shirt.

WICK KICKERS 2019 REGISTRATION FORM

Volleyball Open Gym – Supervised play on Tuesday nights for grades 4-8 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Wickliffe Middle School small gym. $1 at the door. 3rd graders with volleyball experience welcome to participate. Program starts week of February 22 and runs through May 22, 2019. 4th Graders who are new to Volleyball are welcome to attend.

Friday Night Basketball Open Gym – Supervised play on Friday nights for grades 5–8 from 7:00-9:00 pm. $1 at the door. Program starts week of February 22 and runs through May 25, 2019. Wickliffe Residents only. Fridays alternate 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade.

Wickliffe Soccer Club

The Wickliffe Soccer Club offers competitive soccer leagues for players of any ability and experience level. Seasons begin in the fall and last about two months, then continue in the spring for approximately six weeks.  In our split-season format, your registration and fee will cover both the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 sessions.

Monthly meetings are held on 2nd Thursday of each month at the Coulby Park clubhouse, 28730 Ridge Rd, at 8:00 pm. Use Coulby Pond entrance for closest parking lot to the clubhouse.
