The Fire Prevention Bureau (FPB) is primarily responsible for enforcing all aspects of the Ohio Fire Code (OFC), which was adopted by the City of Wickliffe twenty-three years ago. The OFC addresses new and existing construction and operations. The FPB utilizes standards set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as well as the Ohio Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The FPB enforces specifications for the installation of fire protection systems including, but not limited to, fire alarms, sprinklers, standpipes, fire hydrants, and fire lanes. The Wickliffe Fire Prevention Bureau prides itself on fair and consistent enforcement of all the codes noted above.
The Fire Prevention Bureau has responsibilities in the following areas as provided for by the State of Ohio, Lake County, and City of Wickliffe regulations:
•Plan Review and Practices
•Site Plan Reviews
•Preliminary Building Plans
